Website Tech Info
As I already said, this website serves two purposes – to show some of my photos and to show what can be done with standards compliant web design.
A few things worth knowing:
- When you browse from photo to photo, the next photo is always preloaded.
- You can use accesskeys to jump between photos. (Alt+P for the previous photo and Alt+N for the next photo.)
- I have made the photos fairly large (~790x530 pixels) since high resolution screens (1280x1024) are relatively common these days. If you can't see the whole photo because your screen or browser canvas is too small, try hitting F11 to go into fullscreen mode.
In the CSS I have used relative units to make the whole page scale when you change the text size. The galleries have been designed to adapt the number of columns to the width of the viewer's screen.
