Firefox – Cool and Geeky?

I just realized. Few things are as cool and geeky, at the same time, as Firefox is. Can anyone think of any other examples of things that are cool and geeky?

I’m not so sure Firefox is as cool to non-geeks as you think. The coolness of of Firefox lies in all the geeky things you can do with it. It most certainly causes people to rise to levels of geekness that they didn’t know they were capable of though. As far as other cool/geeky things go:T-Moble Sidekick. Adored by hackers and rappers and Paris Hiltons world-wide.

I guess you may be right. Firefox is perhaps only cool in the group of people who know about it and use it…

another cool/geeky thing:PSP.Gamers love it. Rappers love it. Geeks love it. I read an eBook of the latest Harry Potter in an eBook reader on my PSP. It doesn’t get much geekier than that.

Yeah, that’s a good example. I could probably use one myself, come to think of it 🙂

Well, if you’re going to get one, make sure you do a little research beforehand to tell how to determine the firmware revision before you buy it. only firmware 1.50 and below is currently able to run homebrew programs, and there are 1.51 and 1.52 units shipping now. there is allegedly a ‘downgrader’ utility in the works, but it’d be a shame to buy one and not be able to do cool stuff with it in the interim.
